Or more to the point, is there anyone out there that is so happy, so "over the moon" with the Rolex watch or watches that you currently own that you don’t envision yourself buying anymore?
I post this thread as I was thinking today that I’d be happy only owning my Daytona and never another. Sure, I’d like to have a Meteorite dial WG Daytona but would never spend that kind of money on it (though when owning a Seiko 20 years ago, I said I’d never spend the money on a Tag Heuer!
)
I’d like to have a WG or Plat DD with a white dial for dress up, but I can’t imagine spending that kind of money to own one when my Daytona will fit the bill if need be. I rarely dress in a suit so it’s just not necessary. Plus, if I/we were going to spend $15K-$20K on something now, it would be furniture or oriental rugs for our new home, not a Rolex.
Do I feel like I’m "done" collecting Rolexes? Yes, I do. Have I changed my mind a million times before when I felt like this in my life? Yes, I have. Seriously though, even though I can’t imagine buying another Rolex, I still stop by AD’s a few times a year just to see what’s there in the case. There aren’t typically any surprises in the case, but because I’m a WIS, I still like to look. Sometimes I’m surprised, like the day I got to try on my grail watch (The WG Meteorite Daytona when in St Thomas)

Man, this is so, me…

Oh… I love this baby

"Uh, Honey? What do you mean there’s $22k missing from our account? Don’t look at me, I’m not sure where it went
"

Hmmm, so what do I need to sell to buy this? Maybe my 2nd car?

So, how bout you? Has the recession made you think "Uh, I think I have enough, I’m done". Or, are you simply, in your mind, happy with what you have and are through with acquisition of more Rolexes?
Cheers,
Steve R
